Believe it or not, NuArts was originally founded in a garage. We know it sounds a little cliché, but it’s true. In 1940, Richard Stegner started building his business and creating unique creative solutions for his clients. Back then, it came in form of the original type of advertising and marketing…window displays. That business grew and over the next 40 years, moving from the garage to Walker Street (Manhattan) and eventually to a to a much larger home in Queens. NuArts had diversified it’s creative to include everything from displays to print advertising, even video and established an impressive client list including Mitsubishi, Singer and British Airways.
With over 20 years of creative experience, Scott Gormley cut his teeth filming commercials for some of the biggest brands. His work has grown to include narrative as well documentary films. Recently he has produced creative projects for Verizon, NY Islanders, Lamborghini, Scholastic Inc., Vivendi /Universal, The Direct Marketing Association, and Thompson Financial among many others.
Ross Mahler, an award-winning screenwriter, has been making films for over 30 years. He has written more than a dozen scripts and has three that are currently in active development. In addition, Mr. Mahler has extensive experience in visual design and internet content. To say he is passionate about film is an understatement – it’s more like a lifelong obsession. He participates annually in the 48-Hour Film Project in New York City, as both a producer and screenwriter (and whatever other hats he needs to wear).
With a heart for collaboration, this duo works closely with a Director to chisel away at endless hours of footage to reveal the most compelling characters and stories of the Documentaries they edit. As narrative feature filmmakers in their own right, Tracy Nichole and Jon Russell Cring bring a combined thirty years of experience to “Danseur.” The first Documentary they “cut” set records when it was broadcast on PBS and film festivals criss crossing the globe have showcased their many projects in the art form. Tracy has edited over forty films and even more television series; Jon Russell has Directed twenty-four films and brings that love of storytelling to the editing process.
